From time to time I like to reorganize my palette to encourage some fresh air into it. Several years ago, not long after I began studying watercolor, my daily palette was full of colors up to 48 (Yes, I had that 48 half pans watercolor metal palette from Schmincke ). Unlike some of the other artists who can manage such a complicated team freely, I felt frustrated by being stuck in that color chaos. Years later, I started to narrow them down, and down. Until this morning, only 11 colors which I use most often are sitting in my palette, and it takes ten years.
